Know what a finding is based on.
Ruleset 2026.09.27. Each finding includes a rule ID, profile, severity, explanation, and source status when documentation-derived. Heuristics are labeled separately. None of these checks confirms real-world title identity or file integrity.
Verification status
Sources have individual verification dates. Plex movie, TV and movie-extra naming documents were verified on 2026-09-27. The subtitle page could not be retrieved; related checks remain heuristics. Edition requirements were checked in the movie naming document. Jellyfin sources were verified on 2026-09-21. Verification dates describe document review, not guaranteed compatibility with every server version.
Four profiles, one local engine
Extension lists, season and episode patterns, provider syntax, extras names, subtitle flags, severity and explanatory text are separate from the user interface. Pattern or documentation changes can normally be made in the profile data. New algorithms may still require an engine change and regression tests.

Severity is not certainty
ERROR is reserved for a concrete conflict such as a zero-byte file or contradictory season numbers. WARN asks you to review a likely risk. INFO includes optional naming recommendations and ambiguous associations. PASS means only that enabled checks found no issue.
Known limits
- Metadata identity, actual years, ID ownership and episode order need external verification.
- No media contents, hashes, embedded tracks, codecs or NFO XML are inspected.
- Root selection matters. Missing files or omitted sidecars can cause orphan findings.
- Complex disc layouts, absolute anime numbering, stacked versions and arbitrary command-line tree formats are not fully modeled.
- The language list covers common ISO codes, not the full ISO 639-3 registry. Unknown codes are recommendations only.
- Exclusion files are identified but their patterns are not applied. Empty folders and OS-hidden files may not be exposed by the browser.
- Server and scanner versions, plug-ins and settings may change recognition.
